MIAMI (Oct. 14, 2021) – As major cities and counties across the country continue to impose vaccine mandates on citizens and workers impacting our everyday lives, the Miami-Dade Republican Executive Committee unanimously voted to support and protect individual’s right and freedoms to make decisions for themselves and their families.

“While I understand the importance and emphasis being placed on vaccines during this pandemic we must also remember and respect the individual’s Freedom of Choice to make their own decisions. I personally have been vaccinated and encourage everyone eligible to do so. But that was my decision based on data that indicates that the vaccine is the safest and most effective way to protect yourself from this disease,” said Miami-Dade GOP Chairman Rene Garcia.

"As a nation, we must respect the individual’s freedom of choice and not accept coercive actions against those that choose not to be vaccinated. As the GOP leader in Miami-Dade, I will be doing what I’ve been elected to do and protect the rights and freedoms of residents in Miami-Dade County, while encouraging fellow elected officials to do the same.”
