& SURFSIDE AND SOUTH MIAMI CITY ELECTIONS

ABOUT THIS ELECTION

Only the Republican Party will hold a Presidential Preference Primary Election on March 19, 2024. The Florida Democratic Party only provided one candidate nominee. Therefore, a ballot for the Florida Democratic Party is not needed. In addition, all registered voters residing in the municipalities of South Miami and Surfside are eligible to vote on their municipal ballot content.

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER

​

Tuesday, February 20, 2024 – The state voter registration and political party change deadline for this election is Tuesday, February 20, 2024. The Elections Headquarters in Doral will be open from 8:00 a.m. until midnight and the Stephen P. Clark Center satellite office will be open from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. for maximum voter convenience. Additionally, any voter registration application postmarked or received at an official Voter Registration Agency by the February 20 deadline will be accepted as valid for this election.

Monday, March 4, 2024 – First day of Early Voting at 23 locations conveniently located throughout Miami-Dade County. These will remain open for 14 days through Sunday, March 17, 2024. For a list of locations, hours, and wait times during the official Early Voting period, please CLICK HERE.

Thursday, March 7, 2024 - Per state law, any voter who wishes to have a mail ballot sent to their home must submit their request no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 07, 2024. Requests may be submitted online, over the phone, in person, in writing, or faxed to the Miami-Dade Supervisor of Election's office.  For additional information, CLICK HERE. ELECTION DAY: Tuesday, March 19, 2024 – On Election Day, polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and voters must go to their assigned voting location. The polling place list and temporary polling place change list for the PPP Election can be viewed here. The temporary and permanent polling place change lists will be advertised on the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Election's website by CLICKING HERE. Voters whose polling place was changed are also notified by mail and signage is placed at the original location redirecting the voter to the new location, consistent with Florida Statute. 

 

This will be the first countywide election after reprecincting. Eligible voters are encouraged to check their polling place before going to vote by CLICKING HERE

 

The Miami-Dade County Department of Elections office will provide Secure Ballot Intake Stations (Vote-by-Mail Drop Boxes) at all 23 Early Voting locations during hours of operation (CLICK HERE FOR LOCATIONS) and at two (2) sites on Election Day:

  • Miami-Dade Elections Department, 2700 NW 87th Avenue, Miami, FL 33172
  • Stephen P. Clark Center, 111 NW 1st Street, Outside East Entrance, Miami, FL 33128

Election results will be available on the Elections Department homepage (CLICK HERE).  Results will be available beginning at 7:15 p.m on Election Night.
